Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 10/08/2025.

The assessment was carried out by a third party through objective and subjective analysis (see Article 3, paragraph 1, of EU Commission Implementing Decision 2018/1523), based on the automated validation reports provided (AXE Auditor).

It should be noted that, as of the date of this statement, no in-depth usability tests involving users with disabilities have been conducted, nor has a complete manual review of all pages and features of the site been performed.

Plan to Remedy Non-Conformities

The Foundation is committed to resolving the identified non-conformities and improving the accessibility of its website to ensure fair and universal access for all users. To this end, the following implementation plan has been defined, outlining corrective actions and their respective timelines.

Short-Term Objectives

  • Correct Heading Hierarchy and H1 (Ref. C.9.1.3.1 / C.9.2.4.6):
    • Action: Standardize the order of headings (<h1>–<h6>), ensure the presence of one <h1> per page, and remove textless headings from templates.
    • Status: Planned.
  • Enable Keyboard Access for Scrollable Areas (Ref. C.9.2.1.1 / C.9.2.1.3):
    • Action: Make scrollable containers focusable (tabindex="0") and manage keyboard scrolling while avoiding focus traps.
    • Status: Planned.
  • Add Title/Label to Iframes (Ref. C.9.4.1.2):
    • Action: Inspect all <iframe> elements and add a descriptive title/label that communicates their function and content.
    • Status: Planned.

Medium-Term Objectives

  • Adjust Contrasts and Link Distinguishability (Ref. C.9.1.4.3 / C.9.1.4.1):
    • Action: Update the color palette and CSS to meet minimum contrast ratios and make links distinguishable from surrounding text by more than just color.
    • Status: Planned.
  • Correct Semantic Landmarks (related to C.9.1.3.1):
    • Action: Standardize layouts with <header>, <nav>, <main>, <aside>, <footer>; correctly position the “Skip to content” link.
    • Status: Planned.
  • Correct ARIA Patterns and Nested Controls (Ref. C.9.4.1.2):
    • Action: Remove disallowed ARIA roles/attributes, correctly name dialog/command elements, avoid nested interactive controls, and prevent focus on aria-hidden elements.
    • Status: Planned.

Long-Term Commitments and Continuous Improvement

  • Staff Training: By 2026, staff responsible for content and development will receive training on headings, alternative texts, keyboard navigation, landmarks, and ARIA patterns.
  • Usability Testing: In future significant releases, users, including people with disabilities, will be involved to gather feedback and improve the experience.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Periodic checks (at least semi-annually) with automated tools and manual reviews will be conducted to ensure accessibility requirements are maintained.
