EDUCatt‘s catering services are part of the Educhef food philosophy, a concept based on students’ needs combined with a focus on healthy nutrition. EDUCatt offers differentiated catering formulas, from full meal to lunch menus, from dinners to Red Price, which allows access to canteens at reduced prices.

In order to access catering with the envisaged reductions, it is necessary to register with the system from MyEDUCatt area.

Access procedures

Students and frequent visitors to Università Cattolica can choose between different access options to EDUCatt catering facilities located on the various campuses.

Choose the method of payment you prefer

  • Recharge your university card (CartaAteneo+ or a previous version) at the automatic machines and show it at the check-out for payment.
  • Register on MyEDUCatt, download the Payfood App and associate it to your own account. Log in, recharge and pay by showing the QRcode at the check-out.

If you fall under range A, B and C ranges, you can access the food service at a discounted price, by just applying online on MyEDUCatt. The discounted prices depend on your income range: that is why you must apply and provide your ISEE or ISEEUP documentation in MyEDUCatt.

In order to benefit from the discounted prices, you must also pay the 30€ contribution using the EDUCatt Payfood app: this amount works as a one-time-only contribution which is valid for the entire university career.

Canteens

Milan

Reserved to students attending the University central location.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 12 noon to 2.30 pm and from 7 to 8.30 pm. Saturday service is provided at Mensa.5 from 12 noon to 2 pm.

The people who do not have a university badge can purchase single-use vouchers worth 7€ or 10€ at the concierge desk in Augustinianum, via Necchi 1.

Afternoon opening – Study Hall

Access to Mensa&Pizza.9 is also extended to the afternoon and evening hours: in fact, this place can be used from 3.30 to 8 pm as a study room, giving students the opportunity to meet, take a break and study while using wi-fi connection to the University network.

Traditionally reserved to the teaching and technical-administrative staff, Mensa.5 is now also open and aimed to students and to those attending Università Cattolica. Always attentive to the nutritional aspect, every day the canteen provides a vegetable-based dish in addition to the menu to meet everyone’s needs.

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, from 12 noon to 2.15 pm.

Reserved primarily to the female students of the Residence Paolo VI and to any other guests. It is one of the facilities belonging to the ThinkGreen project.

Mainly aimed at the users of the venues in Viale Murillo, Via Buonarroti and Via Pagliano and at the Residence guests, it is open to all students and external guests from Monday to Friday and offers meals with traditional formulas. It is one of the facilities belonging to the ThinkGreen project.

Brescia

Managed in collaboration with Cooperativa ACLI Bresciane “G. Agazzi”, Mensa.48 also houses a cafeteria that provides service after meals, too. It has a capacity of around 200 places for students, professors and technical-administrative staff.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 11.45 am to 2.15 pm.

On the fourth floor of EDUCatt structure in Via Tosio 1, the University Ristorante Panorama – Cucina e Idee is open to the public. The restaurant has been completely renovated and features 80 new seats, with a complete refurbishment, soundproofing to provide a comfortable environment, together with complete room wiring and video and audio equipment to meet multimedia requirements. The renowned terrace, from which an impressive view of the city can be enjoyed, also completes the facility. The new restaurant, open to students, professors and technical-administrative staff, can also be used for events, conferences and as a study room, normally in the afternoon.

The self-service canteen San Giorgio is located inside the Residence of the same name. It has a seating capacity of around 90 and allows all students on the university campus to enjoy a full meal and a free-WIFI service.

Piacenza and Cremona

The catering service in Piacenza campus is located at Collegio S. Isidoro, next to the university facilities. The service is managed directly by EDUCatt, has three self-service lines and three dining rooms with a capacity of 340 seats. The recently renovated rooms are particularly bright and pleasant, with colourful seating blocks and are all air-conditioned. The menu reflects the Emilian culinary tradition, also offering typical local dishes, while respecting a diet suitable for young students.

Afternoon opening – Study Room

Access to Mensa.7 is also extended to the afternoon and evening hours: the two venues Sala Pioppo and Sala Frassino are available from 3 to 8 pm as a study room, giving members the opportunity to meet up, take a break and study.

MyFOOD Area is located inside Mensa.7 and is a space reserved for those who wish to consume meals brought from home. The Area provides 16 seats.

The social cooking&eating area in Collegio Sant’Isidoro is a space with a professional kitchen with state-of-the-art equipment and a living area for up to 24 people. A new and dynamic reality to fully experience the conviviality of meals even during weekends.

Rome

This is the main facility in Polo Giovanni XXIII, which houses a self-service canteen with free distribution drinks and a cafeteria bar. Conceived according to an innovative distribution model, it is a place to pleasantly spend the lunch break and the central moments of the day. In fact, between 4 and 6.30 pm, the Bordeaux area of the facility hosts the break-and-study area. Mensa&Caffé.23 seats about 270 people in an air-conditioned venue.

This is the space located in the Congress Centre, next to the Faculty’s Biological Institutes. With approximately 230 seats, Mensa.21 is the alternative to Mensa&Caffè.23 for all those attending the University.

duepunti Kitchen is the concept designed by EDUCatt for those looking for a quick and tasty solution for their lunch break. The facility, located opposite Nuovo Polo Universitario Giovanni XXIII, has a capacity of about 50 people between the indoor area and the open-air section. duepunti Kitchen’s menu offers a choice of different combinations that provide a young and tasty alternative for breaks, ranging from salads and pizza to fried food and other delicacies.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 12 am to 3 pm.

It is located on the first floor of Policlinico A. Gemelli and is accessible to students, teaching and non-teaching staff.

Bars

Brescia

Like Mensa.48, it is managed by EDUCatt together with the Cooperativa ACLI Bresciane “G. Agazzi”. Caffè.48 is a cafeteria providing coffee and quick breaks to students, teaching and non-teaching staff.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 7.30 am to 6 pm.

Café, via dell’Anselma 5 in Piacenza is the young and dynamic meeting point designed for those who – for different reasons – attend the University.

Complementing the proposal of the already well-known “Bar dell’Università“, Cafè proposes an idea of the lunch break and aperitif that is oriented to today’s gastronomic trends without sacrificing quality.

In a recently renovated environment, Cafè offers breakfasts – smoothies, yoghurt, muffins – but also quick snacks for lunch – maxi toast and big salads – and tasty snacks to share with friends during the “happy hour”. Food but not only: the area, with its open-air section, is ideal for graduation parties, breaks between colleagues and study afternoons.

Piacenza

During opening hours, the bar offers specially designed solutions for breakfast, lunch and breaks, and is also available for aperitifs, graduation parties and events organised inside the University.

In particular, in order to meet the tastes and economic needs of the students, in each offer certain products can be purchased at particularly favourable prices (identified by the EDUCatt – Red Price symbol). The offers are a new proposal for every moment of the day and always accessible.

In the menu offer, also accessible online, there are different themes (breakfast, lunch, break). It seats approximately 50 people.

Reservation services for students

It is also possible to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries in the bar, agreeing on ad-hoc solutions and menus; graduation parties in a reserved area in the bar can also be organised upon request.

Reservation services for University teaching and technical-administrative staff

The bar can offer a catering service at particularly advantageous conditions for professors during conferences and events organized in the University.

A reserved area can be arranged within the café for appointments, breakfasts or working group meetings.

In addition, subject to availability, the bar also offers the possibility of reserving a table for business lunches or breakfasts (minimum 3 people).

Rome

The bar is located inside Mensa&Caffè.23, from which it is directly accessible, and provides cafeteria service and quick breaks with salads and sandwiches for students, teaching and administrative staff.

Restaurants

Milan

In a renovated environment that is in step with the times, but respectful of the original identity of the structure, Ristorante.9 aims to be, as in the past, the “welcoming home” for University professors and public. Simplicity, rigour and proportion of the solutions find, in an aesthetic coordination, a new presentation which makes this place a reference point. The renovation work, in fact, while maintaining the unity of the place, has multiplied its opportunities creating separate areas with temporary division walls.

The restaurant opens to the multiple requirements of today’s catering, guaranteeing special privacy for customers. Essentiality and minimalism are the fil rouge for a restaurant that aims to be the perfect alternative to Milan’s hectic life.

The offer at Ristorante.9 is part of the Educhef philosophy, a guarantee of quality and food safety. Various menu formulas are available for lunch.

In addition, in the afternoon and evening, Ristorante.9 is available for students and teachers who wish to book the place for private events, graduation parties, etc.

Access

To gain access, a reservation must be made through the EDUCatt MyRestaurant app (available on the Android/iOS store or at the link myrestaurant.unicatt.it) through which the customers, logging in with their institutional credentials, can select all the details of their reservation, such as the day, time, number of seats and the menu they wish, and where they can communicate, always in the reservation process, any allergies.

EDUCatt Express

In some locations, EDUCatt has activated the take-away Express service, which allows a meal prepared by the canteen service to be consumed outside the facilities.

EDUCatt Express is aimed at students, teaching and non-teaching staff who wish to consume a full meal formula without additional costs. To access the service, there is no need to show any document or to make a reservation (with some exceptions): it is enough to swipe the badge where requested.

EDUCatt Express Takeaway

In order to use the take-away formula, you have to go to Container.9 and choose a dish from those available daily at the counter, without a reservation or the need to show any document or enter the canteen.

Payment is made by validating the badge at the dedicated counter.

EDUCatt Express Running

The Express Running formula is the take-away service dedicated in particular to the Residence students, who for different reasons – lessons, work, competitive sports or activities promoted by the Residences – are unable to use the service provided at reference location facilities.
